<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Creating An Account</h4>

<p>You will need to create a smartphone app account in order to log in to the <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ventipix.ticketScanner">Android</a>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/event-ticket-scanner/id1063182680?ls=1&amp;mt=8">iOS</a>&nbsp;app to validate tickets.</p>

<p>If you need other people to validate tickets, they will also need to have a smartphone app user account created for them.</p>

<p>To create the account, go to the <a href="https://ticketing.events/app/users">Users</a> page.</p>

<p>Click on the <strong>Add User</strong> button under the <strong>Smartphone App Users</strong> section.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="57" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image-1024x57.png" alt="" class="wp-image-726" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image-1024x57.png 1024w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image-300x17.png 300w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image-768x43.png 768w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image-1536x85.png 1536w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image-1568x87.png 1568w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image.png 1590w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>On the new page, fill out the form with their details, and grant access to specific events, and permissions.</p>

<p>Users can log in either using a username and password, or <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WebAuthn" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">passkeys</a>&nbsp;(secure passwordless authentication), or from other Single Sign-On platforms such as Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, Apple, and Facebook.</p>

<p>If Single Sign-on is required, the email address entered on the form should also be associated with the sign-on platform. </p>

<p>Instructions on how to complete the sign-on setup will then be emailed upon submission of the form.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="414" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/image-1-1024x414.png" alt="" class="wp-image-631" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/image-1-1024x414.png 1024w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/image-1-300x121.png 300w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/image-1-768x310.png 768w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/image-1-1536x621.png 1536w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/image-1-1568x634.png 1568w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/image-1.png 1631w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Making Changes</h4>

<p>To make changes to a smartphone user account, go to the <a href="https://ticketing.events/app/users">Users</a> page.</p>

<p>Find the record you want to edit, under the Smartphone Users section, then use the Actions menu to find the correct option to use.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="342" height="162" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image-1.png" alt="" class="wp-image-727" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image-1.png 342w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2022/12/image-1-300x142.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 342px) 100vw, 342px" /></figure>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Sharing Access</h4>

<p>To generate this QR Code and URL, go to <strong>Actions</strong> > <strong>Share Access</strong>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Getting Started</h3>

<p><a href="https://ticketing.events/">Ticketing.events</a> makes running and managing ticketed events simple.</p>

<p><a href="https://ticketing.events/app/session/login">Log in</a> or <a href="https://ticketing.events/app/session/signup">create</a> an account.</p>

<p>To create your first event, you&#8217;ll need the following:</p>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Name and description of the event</li>

<li>Day and time of the event</li>

<li>Venue details</li>

<li>Type of tickets, their description, and prices</li>

<li>Some promotional images</li>
</ul>

<p>Here&#8217;s a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/embed/LZUmSGGa-uI?rel=0" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">video</a> that gives a quick overview of the event setup process.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Getting paid</h3>

<p>If you want people to pay for the tickets, you&#8217;ll need a payment gateway account from one of the many gateways that we support.</p>

<p>We currently support PayPal, Stripe, Square, 2checkout, Worldpay, Paymill, CCAvenue, Instamojo, PayUMoney, PayU, Alipay, and AsiaPay(PayDollar, SiamPay, &amp; PesoPay). </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Inviting attendees</h3>

<p>Once you&#8217;ve published an event, you can invite people to attend it by importing a CSV list with contact details or sharing your event page on social media, email, etc.</p>

<p>When people book tickets, they&#8217;ll receive an email with a QR code.</p>

<p>This QR code is what they&#8217;ll present on the event day for <a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/event-tickets-validation/">ticket validation</a>. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Desktop App</h3>

<p>If you use Google Chrome, you can access your account from a desktop app. </p>

<p>Simply install it when prompted to, from your account or the browser.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Account Security</h2>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Passkeys – Secure Passwordless Authentication</h3>

<p>Passkeys are digital credentials that replaces passwords for authenticating users on websites and apps.</p>

<p>They offer a faster, easier, and more secure sign-in experience compared to traditional passwords. They&#8217;re incredibly easy to use and intuitive, eliminating the need for complicated password creation processes and the hassle of remembering them. Plus, they&#8217;re unique to each website or application, so you don&#8217;t have to worry about someone using your passkey to access other services.</p>

<p>Passkeys use cryptographic key pairs, with the private key stored on the user’s device and the public key on the website or app’s servers.</p>

<p>This means that a user can sign in using a biometric such as a fingerprint or facial recognition, or a PIN or pattern, instead of a password.</p>

<p>Passkeys are available on both the web and the smartphone app, so you can have<a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/smartphone-app-users/">&nbsp;smartphone app users</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/sub-users/">web app sub-users</a>&nbsp;register for them.</p>

<p>To set up one for your web account, go to the&nbsp;<strong>Profiles</strong>&nbsp;page &gt;&nbsp;<strong>Security</strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Actions</strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Add a Passkey</strong>.</p>

<p>To set up another for the smartphone app, swipe left &gt;&nbsp;<strong>Security</strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Enable Passkeys</strong>.</p>

<p>To&nbsp;require your subusers and smartphone users to use passkeys when setting up their accounts, choose Passkeys under the&nbsp;<strong>Login Method</strong>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Two-factor Authentication</h3>

<p>Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an identity and access management security method that requires two forms of identification to gain access to an account.</p>

<p>If logging in with a password, you can enable two-factor authentication, which will require you to enter a one-time code from a Google or Microsoft Authenticator app.</p>

<p>Two-step authentication is available for the <a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/sub-users/">web app users</a> who log in using passwords.</p>

<p>To set it up, from the&nbsp;<strong>Profiles&nbsp;</strong>page, go to the&nbsp;<strong>Password</strong>&nbsp;tab, then select the&nbsp;<strong>Enable Two-Factor Authentication</strong>&nbsp;option.</p>

<p>Note – you’ll need to use Google’s or Microsoft’s authenticator apps to scan the QR code displayed, then get the code to use on the form.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Biometric Security</h3>

<p>On the smartphone app, you can enable fingerprint or face ID login.</p>

<p>To do so, swipe left &gt;&nbsp;<strong>Security</strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Enable Fingerprint / Face ID login</strong>.</p>

<p>Note – passkeys offer this layer of security.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Single Sign On</h3>

<p>On both the smartphone and web app, users can log in using their Google, Microsoft, Apple, or LinkedIn account.</p>

<p>When setting up accounts for others, you can enforce a single sign-on as a login method.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Account Closure</h2>

<p>To close your account, fill out this <a href="https://ticketing.events/app/session/closeAccount" rel="nofollow">form</a>, then follow the further prompts shown.</p>

<p>If the event organizer has set up <a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/attendees/">discount offers</a> to be redeemed from local businesses, you can claim them in your account and use your ticket to redeem them.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Membership</h4>

<p>You can join memberships from those who have organized them on our platform.</p>

<p>The membership entitles you to claim rewards such as discount on tickets, access to exclusive tickets, and any other reward set up by the organizer.</p>

<p>If the organizer has made discounts or exclusive tickets available, when booking tickets, enter your membership code on the form.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Contacting The Event Organizer</h4>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Option 1</h5>

<p>If you&#8217;re logged in to your <a href="https://ticketing.events/app/manage/login" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Attendee</a> account, go to the <strong>Contact</strong> option, under the <strong>Actions</strong> menu, to find the event organizer&#8217;s email address.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img decoding="async" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-89.png" alt="This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is image-89.png"/></figure>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Option 2</h5>

<p>If you have an e-ticket, you can also find their contact details in the <strong>Event Organizer Info</strong> section.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="266" height="80" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/image.png" alt="" class="wp-image-552"/></figure>

<p>Alternatively, you can also contact the event organizer using the contact form from the event&#8217;s page itself. </p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading">Option 3</h5>

<p>From the event page where you booked the ticket, go to <strong>Options </strong>&gt; <strong>Contact</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="246" height="252" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/image.png" alt="" class="wp-image-791"/></figure>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">NFC Tags</h4>

<p>You can save your tickets to NFC tag wearables such as wristbands, bracelets, key fobs, badges, lanyards, etc.</p>

<p>Saving tickets to NFC tags can be useful for offline access, e.g. when you don&#8217;t want to print tickets or don&#8217;t want to rely on the smartphone.</p>

<p>To write to NFC tags, click on the &#8220;<strong>Save To NFC Tags</strong>&#8221; button from your e-tickets or ticket management page.</p>

<p>On the subsequent page, you&#8217;ll have the option to use our iOS and Android apps or Chrome For Android browsers.</p>

<p>Use the relevant buttons to write to the NFC tag, then verify that the tag was encoded correctly.</p>

<p>Our apps don&#8217;t lock the NFC tags, so you can reuse them for other data, etc.</p>

<p></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">App</h4>

<p>If you use Google Chrome, you can access your account from a desktop or smartphone app. </p>

<p>Simply install it when prompted to, from your account or the browser.</p>
