<h2 class="wp-block-heading">In-Person Ticket Sales</h2>

<p>You can accept card and cash payments at the door if you set up your <a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/setting-up-payment-gateways/">payment settings</a> using Stripe or Square.</p>

<p>With card payments, you can use a supported Point-of-Sale (POS) terminal reader to capture the payment. These include contactless, chip &amp; pin, and swiped cards.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Setting Up POS Transactions</h2>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Ticket Sales Transactions</h3>

<p>The process of <a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/managing-tickets/">setting up tickets</a> for POS transactions is the same as that for online transactions.</p>

<p>Both POS and online tickets can be run at the same time.</p>

<p>With POS tickets, you may want to make use of the <strong>Private Ticket</strong> field so that these tickets have custom pricing that is not available publicly with the online option.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="157" height="77" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image.png" alt="" class="wp-image-855"/></figure>

<p>The POS tickets will be served from a different page, from which your team members, who are logged in to their ticketing.events account can use.</p>

<p>To get the link to the POS tickets, from the <strong>Events</strong> page, find the desired event, then go to its <strong>Actions</strong> menu.</p>

<p>Under this menu, go to the <strong>Ticket Links</strong> option.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="178" height="206" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-1.png" alt="" class="wp-image-856"/></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Donation Transactions</h3>

<p>For donations, from the <strong>Fundraise</strong> page, go to <strong>Actions</strong> > <strong>Manage Existing Fundraisers</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="289" height="312" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-8.png" alt="" class="wp-image-1162" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-8.png 289w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-8-278x300.png 278w" sizes="(max-width: 289px) 100vw, 289px" /></figure>

<p>On the subsequent page, under the <strong>Actions</strong> menu on the table, go to <strong>Donation Page Links</strong>.</p>

<p>Use the In-person Donations URL to execute transactions.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Membership Subscription Transactions</h3>

<p>From the <strong>Membership Passes</strong> page, under the table, go to <strong>Actions</strong> > <strong>Subscription Links</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="187" height="345" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-10.png" alt="" class="wp-image-1164" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-10.png 187w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-10-163x300.png 163w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 187px) 100vw, 187px" /></figure>

<p>Use the In-person Membership URL to execute transactions.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Using Stripe For In-person Payments</h2>

<p>First, check if <a href="https://stripe.com/docs/terminal" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stripe</a> supports in-person payments in your location.</p>

<p>Secondly, acquire their <a href="https://stripe.com/docs/terminal/payments/setup-reader" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Smart Readers</a>, and ensure that they support <strong>JavaScript</strong> integration, e.g Stripe Reader S700 and BBPOS WisePOS E types.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="438" height="153" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-2.png" alt="" class="wp-image-857" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-2.png 438w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-2-300x105.png 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 438px) 100vw, 438px" /></figure>

<p></p>

<p>Consult <a href="https://stripe.com/docs/terminal/payments/setup-reader#availability" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stripe&#8217;s documentation</a> for the latest smart reader support updates.</p>

<p>Once you have acquired the smart reader, you will need to register it. This can be done directly from Stripe&#8217;s dashboard.</p>

<p>Alternatively, you can also register the smart reader when using our POS ticket sales link.</p>

<p>In your ticketing.events account, <a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/category/managing-payments/">set up Stripe</a> as the payment processor, and make it the default for processing transactions.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Processing Stripe Transactions </h3>

<p>From the in-person URLs, follow the wizard steps until you are prompted to choose a smart reader that you have already registered.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="956" height="106" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-5.png" alt="" class="wp-image-867" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-5.png 956w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-5-300x33.png 300w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-5-768x85.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 956px) 100vw, 956px" /></figure>

<p>If none has been registered, or wish to add a new one, click on the <strong>Register Readers </strong>button. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="465" height="80" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-6.png" alt="" class="wp-image-868" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-6.png 465w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-6-300x52.png 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 465px) 100vw, 465px" /></figure>

<p>Whenever you want to refresh the list of available smart readers, click on the <strong>Reload Readers</strong> button.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="218" height="62" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-7.png" alt="" class="wp-image-869"/></figure>

<p>Once you have selected a reader, under the <strong>Available Smart Readers</strong> dropdown, ensure that it&#8217;s available and a connection has been made.</p>

<p>Click on the <strong>Complete</strong> button then present the smart reader to the customer for it to capture the payment. </p>

<p>If the transaction is successful, the page will redirect to a confirmation page. </p>

<p>For example, for a ticket sale, the customer can then check their inbox and spam folder for the e-tickets. Alternatively, they can scan the QR code shown on the confirmation page to download their tickets.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="951" height="491" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-4.png" alt="" class="wp-image-865" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-4.png 951w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-4-300x155.png 300w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/image-4-768x397.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 951px) 100vw, 951px" /></figure>

<p></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Using Square For In-person Payments</h2>

<p>Install the latest version of the Square Point of Sale application from the <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.squareup" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Play Store</a> or the <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/square-register-point-sale/id335393788?mt=8" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Apple App Store</a>.</p>

<p>Set up the Square POS as required.</p>

<p>In your ticketing.events account, set up Square as the default payment processor.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Processing Square Transactions</h3>

<p>On the same device with the Square POS app, open the in-person POS URL from a browser.</p>

<p>Follow the wizard steps.</p>

<p>The Square POS app will then open and prompt you to capture the payment from the customer.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Issuing refunds</h4>

<p>There are two ways to make refunds to attendees.</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list"><li>Automated means through the platform</li><li>Through the payment gateway</li></ol>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Automated refunds</h4>

<p>The platform can be set up to allow attendees to request refunds for themselves. This is ideal for situations that require mass refunds. </p>

<p><strong>This automated refund feature only works for 2checkout, Worldpay, Stripe, Square, AliPay, PayU, and Instamojo.</strong> <strong>For all other payment gateways, use the payment gateway’s dashboard.</strong> </p>

<p>To enable it, go to the <a href="https://ticketing.events/app/events">Events</a> page. On the table go to the event&#8217;s <strong>Action &gt; Edit Event &gt; Edit Ticket Page</strong> option.</p>

<p>On the tickets page, on the ticket&#8217;s spreadsheet, indicate on the <strong>Refundable</strong> column by, setting to &#8220;Yes&#8221;, the tickets that should be refunded.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="305" height="97" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-39.png" alt="" class="wp-image-180" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-39.png 305w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-39-300x95.png 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 305px) 100vw, 305px" /></figure>

<p>Also, indicate whether the platform should make full or partial refunds under the <strong>Refund Type</strong> section.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="483" height="118" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-40.png" alt="" class="wp-image-181" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-40.png 483w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-40-300x73.png 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 483px) 100vw, 483px" /></figure>

<p>On the attendees&#8217; side, to make the refund request, they need to click on the <strong>Request Refund</strong> button from their tickets&#8217; management URLs or accounts.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="120" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-41-1024x120.png" alt="" class="wp-image-182" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-41-1024x120.png 1024w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-41-300x35.png 300w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-41-768x90.png 768w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-41.png 1077w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>If the request is valid, the platform will inform the integrated payment gateway to issue a refund.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Payment Gateway Refunds</h4>

<p>Refunds can be made using the payment gateway&#8217;s dashboard. </p>

<p>To do so, log in to your payment gateway account, find the transaction or customer, then follow the prompts to initiate refunds. </p>

<p>For example, for PayPal transactions, see &#8211; <a href="https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/send-refund" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/send-refund</a>.</p>

<p><a href="https://ticketing.events/">Ticketing.events</a> platform enables you to get paid directly by the attendees. This greatly improves your cash flow, as none of your revenues earned get held up with us thereby causing unnecessary delays.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Setting up a payment gateway integration</h4>

<p>We support a number of <a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/supported-gateways/">payment gateways</a>.</p>

<p>To set up the payment gateways, go to the <a href="https://ticketing.events/app/payment">Payments</a> page.</p>

<p>Choose the desired gateway, then follow the setup guidelines shown.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Passing on charges</h4>

<p>You can have the attendee pay the gateway&#8217;s transaction fees, and our <a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/service-charges/">service charges</a>. These passed-on charges are added to the total amount payable after the tickets have been summed up.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Transaction Fees</strong></h5>

<p>To pass on the gateway&#8217;s transaction fees, for example with Stripe, choose &#8220;Yes&#8221; under Pass On Stripe Charges.</p>

<p>Enter the transaction fees that should be added to what the attendee pays.</p>

<p>The fees the gateways charge are listed on their respective websites.</p>

<h5 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Service Charges</strong></h5>

<p>To pass on our <a href="https://kb.ticketing.events/knowledge-base/service-charges/">service charges</a>, choose &#8220;Yes&#8221; under <strong>Pass On Ticketing.events Service Charges</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="53" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-43-1024x53.png" alt="" class="wp-image-186" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-43-1024x53.png 1024w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-43-300x16.png 300w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-43-768x40.png 768w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-43.png 1059w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Testing payments</h4>

<p>During the initial payment gateway set up, you will be able to make test payments by indicating so on the form. </p>

<p>Note: this feature, may not be available for some gateways.</p>

<p>To make test payments at another time, go to the <a href="https://ticketing.events/app/payment">Payments</a> page. Find the integration set up you want to test, then go to <strong>Actions</strong> &gt; <strong>Test Payments</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="160" height="152" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-44.png" alt="" class="wp-image-187"/></figure>

<p>On the new page, if a <strong>Test Payment</strong> checkbox is displayed, tick it,</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="35" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-46-1024x35.png" alt="" class="wp-image-189" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-46-1024x35.png 1024w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-46-300x10.png 300w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-46-768x26.png 768w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-46.png 1057w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>When making the test payment, you will need to use your gateway&#8217;s test credentials on the payment gateway setup form. </p>

<p>Once the test is complete, update the credentials to the live/production ones.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Making changes</h4>

<p>To make changes go to <strong>Action &gt; Edit</strong>.</p>

<p>When making changes, and you have more than one payment gateway set up, ensure that one of them is the main one for accepting payments.</p>

<p>Check the <strong>Default Gateway</strong> checkbox.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="34" src="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-45-1024x34.png" alt="" class="wp-image-188" srcset="https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-45-1024x34.png 1024w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-45-300x10.png 300w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-45-768x25.png 768w, https://kb.ticketing.events/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/image-45.png 1057w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Viewing Transactions</h4>

<p></p>

<p>You can view successful transactions from the <strong>Payments</strong> &gt; <strong><a href="https://ticketing.events/app/payment/transactions">Transactions</a></strong> page.</p>
